This special tour will take place at the Ballona Freshwater Marsh and will include the public trail as well as the “off-limits” maintenance trail behind the fence. The tour will last about an hour and a half and binoculars will be provided. Evening Tour- 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, led by Lisa Fimiani, Friends of Ballona Wetlands’ Board Member and former Executive Director. Restrictions: Since this tour will offer views of birds during nesting season, the group size is very limited and attendance is restricted to those over the age of 10. We apologize, but the trail is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. We do not have a restroom available on-site. The closest public restrooms are located at Playa Vista Sports Park across Lincoln Blvd., approximately a 15 minute round trip walk from the Freshwater Marsh.
Directions: Please arrive 10 minutes early. Park on the south side of Jefferson Blvd. just west of Lincoln Blvd. Tours begin at the corner of Jefferson and Lincoln by the large purple sign with a Great Blue Heron on it, that welcomes visitors to the Ballona Freshwater Marsh.
