Bird Day LA at Wildlife Waystation @ Wildlife Waystation

Wildlife Waystation is a sanctuary for rescued animals which have been injured, abandoned, orphaned or are otherwise unwanted. More than 77,000 animals have been saved during the past 42 years. Dozens of our current residents are raptors and exotics. Expert members of Wildlife Waystation’s Bird Team will have birds on hand for you to meet and discuss. Soot, a red-tailed hawk who was burned as a chick. Barnee, a barn owl, has an injured wing. Tumbleed is a great horned owl who suffered multiple injuries including broken leg, dislocated elbow and left wing damage. Our Golden Eagle, Hatari, had her left wing amputated after probably injury by a gunshot or power-line. Our collection of exotics include cockatoos, macaws, parrots and eclectus birds. They’ll be chat with you too. You’ll be able to see our birds close up.

Wildlife Waystation is 160 acres nature preserve located in the Angeles National Forest just 15 minutes from the 210 & 118 interchange. Exit Osborne and follow GPS to 14831 Little Tujunga Canyon Road, Sylmar, CA. The event is free and open to everyone 18 and older. A $10 donation per person is suggested.
